Snow is vitally important to large portions of the western United States. Winter snowfall stays on mountains until temperatures warm during the spring. As the snow melts, it provides water during the drier summer months for many farms, ranches, towns, and cities. In this video, Patrick Kormos explains how scientists at Reynolds Creek are using all the data collected within the watershed to create and validate snow models. These models can then be used to predict snow accumulation and melt all across the western United States.
